As a child, I was the one in the dental chair crying loudly enough for everyone in the waiting room to hear even though my dentist was kind, knowledgeable, and gentle. Despite my fear, I was fascinated by teeth and told my parents at age five that I wanted to be a dentist.
Over the years, that calling led me to become a board-certified pediatric dentist and diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. I wanted to build a dental home where children feel safe, supported, and understood.
But I realized early on that treating just teeth wasn’t enough. So I pursued advanced training in airway dentistry and became Ohio’s only Breathe Ops Affiliate trained directly by Dr. Soroush Zaghi at The Breathe Institute. I’m also Myo Masters certified, bringing specialized knowledge in myofunctional therapy and functional tongue-tie evaluation.
These credentials mean I treat the whole child, not just their smile, partnering with parents to help their child thrive. And as the mother of two boys, I only recommend what I’d do for my own child. I’d love to meet your family and become your trusted partner in their health care journey.

A Mom First A Pediatric Dentist Always
Once I became a mom, I understood on a deep level that there can be a difference between the textbook answer and the realistic answer for a family.
As the mother of two young boys, Nash and Colby, I’ve experienced firsthand how tongue, lip, and cheek ties can affect infant feeding. Both of my boys struggled with ties as infants, and I found myself on both sides of the treatment chair.
That dual perspective gave me so many insights beyond my clinical training. I understand the panic parents feel when something feels off with their baby’s feeding. I understand the relief when a functional evaluation finally gives answers. And I understand how much it takes to get the best outcome, from the initial evaluation through stretches at home and beyond.
Now that my boys are old enough to receive routine dental cleanings and exams, I once again find myself on both sides of the chair. I feel my own nerves in my stomach when my kid won’t sit still or has a meltdown. In those moments I have to remind myself of what I tell every parent: this is normal, and we’ll work through it.
That’s the thing about being a mom and a pediatric dentist at the same time. I can’t unsee the parent side. I know when textbooks say a child should give up the pacifier, but I also know that some days the pacifier is the only thing giving your household some much-needed sleep. That’s why I won’t push a by-the-book plan that doesn’t fit your child on your hardest day. I’m here to work with you, not lecture you. Together we’ll help your child enjoy dental visits and build a lifetime of healthy breathing and smiles.
